Despite a crummy forecast for the day, I went out with a good crew of folks to ski up Cloudburst Mountain. We pretty much stumbled the whole way up in the fog but managed to summit in the end. The ski down had some surprisingly good skiing! I was really impressed with the short drive and loved getting back to town early. Maybe I'll have to do more trips closer to home and ski the Duffey day trips a bit more.

Quite a gang!

Cam moves cautiously up the ridge using the avi probe to stay away from the edge. "Here cornice, cornice, cornice...."

Scott takes a turn trailbreaking. A lack of horizon in the cloud makes things confusing.

The group enjoys spectacular views during the ascent.

At the summit. Thanks god for the radio tower, I'm not sure we would have know where the summit was without it.

A beautiful section of fast turns as we break though the bottom of the cloud ceiling.

Good times!
